I grew up around Pot, Ganja, Weed, Mary Jane, Marijuana, Bud, Grass, you get the drift. The good ol' hippie days. My parents grew it, smoked it, had Sunday afternoon parties with it. Everyone was happy, laughing, playing and always in a great mood at those parties. I remember ash-trays in our small little house up in the mountains filled with joints and buds. It was normal in those days to see it everywhere even tho it was illegal back then. But Funny enough I didn't take my first puff til I was about 17. ( I did inhale😉) Boy did I NOT like that! I tried it a few more times to just make sure I wasn't missing out on this popular plant that makes most people enjoy life a little more and have a permanent smile on their face. I've yet to see an angry stoned person.🤔 But every time I had the same comatose response to it. So much going on in my head but totally unable to move my body! Ok not for me. Years later, I learned in a Theta-Healing course that we have THC naturally occurring in our bodies. And if you have a higher count (like me) it can make you feel paranoid, out of your body, weird or comatose! And people with a lower count of THC, Marijuana can help them feel more at ease, be able to handle life better, have more focus or even heal ailments, mentally and physically. Mary Jane is know for a lot of healing properties. I share those below. My reason for this personal story is how my relationship started back in those good ol' days with this beautiful plant that I really didn't give the time of day to (4:20) Ha just kidding. But really this plant has been communicating with me since my childhood I realized. You know those synchronicities in life that present themselves to help you on your path? I would dismiss anything to do with Pot including CBD knowing so many people healed with this plant I still would turn my energy away from it. But Mary Jane kept gently nudging me through those synchronicities and made it's way back into my life as a powerful healing partner.
There are so many ways to use Ganja now a days to help in your healing process. To name a few.. gummies, brownies, tinctures, topically, vapes, and the old fashioned way of just smoking it. (Pass the bong please!) I've learned a lot in the last few years about the differences and healing properties between Cannabis and CBD. (Still learning) but here is some of what I've learned.👇
THC (tetrahydrocannabinol-say that 5 times out loud) and CBD (cannabidiol) are both compounds derived from Cannabis, but they differ in their effects and healing properties. THC is psychoactive, producing a "high" by directly activating CB1 receptors in the brain, while CBD is non-psychoactive,(more my pace) offering therapeutic benefits without mind-altering effects. Legally,(but becoming legal in a lot of states) THC is more restricted due to its psychoactive nature, while CBD is widely accepted if it contains minimal THC (typically under 0.3%). THC has healing applications in pain relief, nausea reduction (especially for chemotherapy patients), appetite stimulation, and muscle spasticity relief, making it useful for conditions such as multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, and chronic pain. In contrast, CBD is often used to alleviate anxiety, depression, and stress, reduce inflammation, and support brain health due to its neuroprotective properties. CBD has also shown effectiveness in managing epilepsy and seizure disorders. Additionally, both compounds offer complementary effects; for example, they can work synergistically in an "entourage effect," enhancing overall therapeutic outcomes like calming inflammation, improving sleep, and easing pain. Side effects are different, with THC potentially causing dizziness, dry mouth, paranoia or (becoming comatose😬) and I can probably safely add severe munchies as well.😂 Whereas CBD has few adverse side effects when it’s used in appropriate amounts. The most common CBD side effects are dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, dry mouth and anxiety. But from my research is rare. So my conclusions are that both create a balanced approach to cannabis-based healing that helps mind, body and spirit. Just depends on if you want to get a high, laugh and get the munchies or if your like me and can't handle the THC, then use CBD (like my salves!) to help assist in your healing journey.
